At Youngstown Hard Chrome, our reputation as a provider of world-class hard chrome plating is built on over 50 years of servicing customers in some of the most demanding industries. Over the years, we have found that many of the plating projects we took on required grinding to repair and prepare the surface for plating. What was once a value added service has grown to become a standalone offering, with precision and pricing that rivals shops that specialize in only grinding.

As with all of our services, we provide high precision on large scale work pieces. For O.D. grinding we can accommodate parts up to 60” in diameter, and 37’ in length. I.D. grinding is designed to allow a 70” swing and 60” stroke. With both of these grinding processes we can achieve tolerances as tight as ±.0001”.

This is a flexible service utilizing both manual and CNC controlled equipment. This allows us to select the optimal combination of equipment and process to deliver the maximum value for each project. This service is augmented by honing, polishing, blasting & masking, and a comprehensive array of inspection processes that will validate every dimension.
